Filter Mat-tree with checkbox using Angular6

Question

Its a duplicate request of How to filter a mat-tree component Angular Material 6.0.1

Solution provided by @mfatih is not fully working (Checkbox selections are missing)

@ganelon or @steamfood or @CertainPerformance - I tried to implement your solutions, but I'm not successfuly. Could you please provide working example (in Stackblitz or plunker)
