I have tried to comb through the Facebook Developers documentation http://developers.facebook.com/ but haven't been able to answer this question.

Have you tried this ? 你试过这个吗？ Its the recommended option since the api doesnt allow you to add randomly people with a call. 它是推荐的选项，因为api不允许你随机添加一个电话的人。
