I am trying to setup a paypal BuyNow/Subscribe button for my website, but cant seem to figure out if I can customize it the way I want.

You can use PayPal Subscription button. 您可以使用“贝宝订阅”按钮。 Bascially you will need to offer 3 months trial(free) peroid and charge for the remaning months accordingly. 基本上，您需要提供3个月的试用期（免费），并相应收取剩余的几个月费用。
Just login to www.paypal.com->My selling Tools->Click "Update" beside PayPal buttons. 只需登录www.paypal.com->我的销售工具->点击PayPal按钮旁边的“更新”。 Create a Subscription button as per the below screenshot. 根据以下屏幕截图创建一个订阅按钮。 Note: Offer 3 months trial period with amount set to 0 注意：提供3个月的试用期，金额设置为0
