I need to use the appcompat_v7 library but it does not exist in my sdk and the extras in the eclipse sdk manager has just 1 item : android support library - and I have installed it .

Note that the "support library" (as opposed to the "support repository") is hidden by default in the SDK manager, as it has been deprecated. 请注意，默认情况下，“支持库”（与“支持库”相对）在SDK管理器中是隐藏的，因为它已被弃用。 You need to check the "show: obsolete" checkbox. 您需要选中“显示：已过时”复选框。 And then it's available to download. 然后可以下载。
