I realize this could be a very newbie question since I don't have enough knowledge of httpserver/appserver/ssl.

The thing is I don't have a standalone IBM HTTP Server, I only have IBM WebSphere 8.5 installed. 问题是我没有独立的IBM HTTP Server，仅安装了IBM WebSphere 8.5。 I can access my app via http but not via https(port 9443). 我可以通过http访问我的应用程序，但不能通过https（端口9443）访问。

You shouldn't have any issues accessing https port. 您访问https端口应该没有任何问题。 What error do you get? 你得到什么错误？ Maybe your browser is blocking self sign WebSphere certificate. 也许您的浏览器正在阻止自签名WebSphere证书。 For testing https you can use DefaultApplication which is installed by default and try to access snoop servlet - https://host:9443/snoop 为了测试https，您可以使用默认安装的DefaultApplication并尝试访问snoop servlet- https://host:9443/snoop
