With importing and exporting settings I've somehow changed the default save location for the settings in VS 2017 - they're landing on my Desktop.

I've found it by myself. 我自己找到的。
The filename and path can be changed under "Options" -> "Environment" -> "Import and Export Settings". 可以在“选项”->“环境”->“导入和导出设置”下更改文件名和路径。 And the default path and filename is: c:\\users\\USERNAME\\documents\\visual studio 2017\\settings\\CurrentSettings.vssettings. 默认路径和文件名是：c：\\ users \\ USERNAME \\ documents \\ visual studio 2017 \\ settings \\ CurrentSettings.vssettings。

When you say 'default save location', is it the location you're prompted to save when you create a solution first? 当您说“默认保存位置”时，是您首先创建解决方案时提示您保存的位置吗？
If so, go to Tools > Options > Projects and Solutions > General, and you can change those locations there. 如果是这样，请转到工具>选项>项目和解决方案>常规，然后可以在此处更改这些位置。
