I'm really interested in working with Google as my host for my web application ideas but I am having trouble getting functions like PHP and databases running in synergy with their html website systems.

But the process is lengthy with lots of research and I've had several setbacks already.

I'm familiar with several scripting languages and am now learning the languages required to develop web applications for the needs of my clientele and am really interested in utilizing the GCP services.

If anyone knows any better guides or tutorials on how to get a web-forum like application running through GCP or can point me in a better direction, it would be highly appreciated.

Your question is not clear and lacks of information of what exactly you would like to do. Also the guide you are following is a "Google Cloud AI Services" Guide. Although what I understand is that you would like to host a web-forum in Google Cloud Platform, without paying any third-party APIs if possible.

Well this is something that can happen but you will be limited in resources (plug-ins, themes, libraries).

The procedure to do that, is not fixed but it depends on what your exact needs are and what services you want to use. Generally what you should do is to configure a web-forum like you would do normally and then set it up on a Google Cloud Service.
