"Monospace" just means that all characters take the same, fixed width for each character. “等宽”只是意味着所有字符对每个字符采用相同的固定宽度。
The converse is a "proportional" font where narrower letters eg i take less space and wider letters eg m take more space.相反是一种“比例”字体，其中较窄的字母（例如i占用较少空间）和较宽的字母（例如m占用更多空间）。
