Question

I am trying to update a JSON query. However, I am unable to do this because I am consistently getting a grammatical error with my PostgresSQL query. The query which I have is as follows:

What I want to do is to change the status value based on the parameter which does include an entire JSON string. The application_request table in the DB does include a column with type JSON. If you know how to solve this without any error, please let me know.

Solved my own problem, yet again. Here is what I need to do in the query to avoid the error:

@Query(value = "UPDATE ped.application_request SET status =?3 WHERE request_type =?1 AND CAST(request_data AS text) =?2 and createby =?4 and createddate =?5 RETURNING *;", nativeQuery = true)
List<Object[]> updateMLStatus(String requestType, String requestData, String status, String createBy, LocalDate createdDate);

I get no more errors after this!

To avoid JSON formatting related issues, I would recommend casting the parameter instead like this:
