除 tty1 之外的所有 tty 都会对我的显示器造成“无信号”

Question

I'm on Manjaro kde with proprietary nvidia drivers (with nvidia-drm.modeset=1 in kernel parameters). Whenever I switch to another tty (CTRL+ALT+F2), I get a black screen, my monitor says no signal, and the monitor turns off. Not sure where to look to debug this. If I switch back to tty1, monitor comes back and everything works fine.

This is a 4k monitor so i'm wondering if it is something to do with resolution. I have not tried removing the nvidia-drm modeset and replace with nomodeset yet. This is because I would like to use wayland but I would also like to be able to access other tty's incase something breaks on the wayland session.

I'm fairly certain at this point that this is due to my graphics card firmware. I sent a support ticket to nvidia to confirm, but there was a firmware update a few years ago to resolve issues with using display port 1.4 with a gtx 1080 causing no signal to the monitor during boot. And i'm guessing this is a similar problem.
