I have ubuntu maverick 10.10 running on rackspace.

Appears to be your RDP client complaining that it is not able to match the bit depth. 似乎是您的RDP客户端抱怨它无法匹配位深度。
When you launch RDP client before connection try this. 在连接之前启动RDP客户端时，请尝试此操作。 Expand 'Options', go to display and change the bit depth in the colors section to 16. 展开“选项”，转到显示并将颜色部分的位深度更改为16。
