ValueError: “too many values to unpack” when plotting with Sage

here's my code thus far. I have Python 2.7 (which I downloaded today along with Sage) and am running it on Mac OS X 10.6.8 from the terminal (though, I do plan on running it from the notebook() GUI as soon as I figure out what's going on with these errors).

Use list_plot .

If you have separate lists of x values and y values which you want to plot against each other, use the "zip" command to make a single list whose entries are pairs of (x,y) values, and feed the result into "list_plot" 如果您有相互映射的x值和y值的单独列表,请使用“zip”命令创建一个列表,其条目是(x,y)值对,并将结果提供给“list_plot” “

so in particular, use list_plot(zip(X,Y)) . 所以特别要使用list_plot(zip(X,Y)) Alternatively, convert DATA to a single list: use list_plot(DATA.tolist()) . 或者,将DATA转换为单个列表:使用list_plot(DATA.tolist())

I'd also point out that I like using line() with the linestyle='' option so I can get more matplotlib options (for some reason list_plot and points don't do this nicely): 我还指出我喜欢使用带有linestyle=''选项的line() ,所以我可以获得更多的matplotlib选项(由于某种原因, list_plotpoints不能很好地完成这个):

DATA = [[   1.,    1.],
   [   2.,    4.],
   [   3.,    9.],
   [   4.,   16.],

   [   8.,   64.],
   [   9.,   81.],
   [  10.,  100.]]
line(DATA,marker='^',linestyle='')
