[英]JavaFX Application Freezes, and I have no idea why

The Problems seems to be that your solve(int i, int j) is called over and over again (recusive) which freezes the GUI if it does not find a solution. 问题似乎是您的solve(int i,int j)被一遍又一遍地调用(追溯),如果找不到解决方案,它将冻结GUI。 It seems that your algorithm is not well implemented. 看来您的算法没有很好地实现。

Generally it is a good advise to execute computationally expensive code in a separate thread (ie not in the GUI-thread). 通常,最好在单独的线程中(即不在GUI线程中)执行计算量大的代码。
