Its been few days i've been searching for a solution. 几天来我一直在寻找解决方案。 My question is..I have to deploy a project in tomcat and make it as a default webapp. 我的问题是..我必须在tomcat中部署一个项目并将其作为默认的webapp。 What I did is copied my war file and placed it in the tomcat/webapps folder. 我做的是复制我的war文件并将其放在tomcat / webapps文件夹中。 Started tomcat and changed the port to default. 启动tomcat并将端口更改为默认值。 Now I can access my application at http://localhost/myapp .What i want is to see my application at http://localhost . 现在我可以在http:// localhost / myapp上访问我的应用程序。我想要的是在http:// localhost上查看我的应用程序。 How can I do this? 我怎样才能做到这一点?

I was able to do it by adding "Context" element with path="" attribute under Host in server.xml file. 我能够通过在server.xml文件中的Host下添加带有path =“”属性的“Context”元素来实现。

Note: I am using Tomcat 7. 删除Tomcat/webapps/ROOT文件夹(如果有),将WAR文件重命名为ROOT.war并重新启动。

you could rename your webapp to ROOT (the default app for tomcat), or you can use a web server that can handle domain names and redirects (like apache httpserver), and configure your site there. 您可以将您的webapp重命名为ROOT(tomcat的默认应用程序),或者您可以使用可以处理域名和重定向的Web服务器(如apache httpserver),并在那里配置您的站点。

The first approach is not very elegant, but quick and efficient though. 第一种方法不是很优雅,但快速而有效。

create index.html at webapps/ROOT with below. 在webapps / ROOT下创建index.html。
