I have an app that crashes and freezes, I pressed home button to get out of it but next time when I relaunch the app it brings up the splash screen and just sit there and does nothing.

After getting out of the app, try double-clicking home button to bring up background apps, hold finger on the app until app shakes and the red close button appears, and close it from there.退出应用程序后，尝试双击主页按钮调出后台应用程序，手指按住应用程序直到应用程序抖动并出现红色关闭按钮，然后从那里关闭它。 Then try reopening.然后尝试重新打开。
