null reference in ASP.NET MVC 5 identity

I am having a problem with the ASP.NET MVC Individuel user accounts default template. I get null reference at ActionResult Register but the modelstate is valid. I have created an other project with the same code and it works like a charm.

In this project it doensn't work this is my code can you please help me.

My models:

     public class User : IdentityUser
    {
        //public string Title { get; set; } // mevr. of mr.
        //public string FirstName { get; set; }
        //public string LastName { get; set; }
        //public System.DateTime? Birthdate { get; set; }

        public async Task<ClaimsIdentity> GenerateUserIdentityAsync(UserManager<User> manager)
        {
            // Note the authenticationType must match the one defined in CookieAuthenticationOptions.AuthenticationType
            var userIdentity = await manager.CreateIdentityAsync(this, DefaultAuthenticationTypes.ApplicationCookie);
            // Add custom user claims here
            return userIdentity;
        }

DbContext class (for EF migrations)

    public class PortLoginContext : IdentityDbContext<User>
    {
        public PortLoginContext()
                : base("PortOfTroyLogin", throwIfV1Schema: false)
            {
            }

        public static PortLoginContext Create()
            {
                return new PortLoginContext();
            }

            protected override void OnModelCreating(DbModelBuilder modelBuilder)
            {
                base.OnModelCreating(modelBuilder);

                modelBuilder.Entity<User>().ToTable("User").Property(p => p.Id).HasColumnName("UserId");
                modelBuilder.Entity<IdentityUserRole>().ToTable("UserRole");
                modelBuilder.Entity<IdentityUserLogin>().ToTable("UserLogin");
                modelBuilder.Entity<IdentityUserClaim>().ToTable("UserClaim").Property(p => p.Id).HasColumnName("UserClaimId");
                modelBuilder.Entity<IdentityRole>().ToTable("Role").Property(p => p.Id).HasColumnName("RoleId");

            }

My controller

     [HttpPost]
        [AllowAnonymous]
        [ValidateAntiForgeryToken]
        public async Task<ActionResult> Register(RegisterViewModel model)
        {
            if (ModelState.IsValid)
            {
                var user = new User { UserName = model.Email, Email = model.Email}; //Username & Email fills correctly
                var result = await UserManager.CreateAsync(user, model.Password); //Password fills correctly
                if (result.Succeeded) //Here is the null reference :(
                {
                    await SignInManager.SignInAsync(user, isPersistent:false, rememberBrowser:false);

                    // For more information on how to enable account confirmation and password reset please visit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=320771
                    // Send an email with this link
                    // string code = await UserManager.GenerateEmailConfirmationTokenAsync(user.Id);
                    // var callbackUrl = Url.Action("ConfirmEmail", "Account", new { userId = user.Id, code = code }, protocol: Request.Url.Scheme);
                    // await UserManager.SendEmailAsync(user.Id, "Confirm your account", "Please confirm your account by clicking <a href=\"" + callbackUrl + "\">here</a>");

                    return RedirectToAction("Index", "Home");
                }
                AddErrors(result);
            }

            // If we got this far, something failed, redisplay form
            return View(model);
        }

Thank you for your help

Oke I finally solved it (with some help of you guys). I had some custom implementations in my public class User : IdentityUser I did comment them out but I didn't do the same in my Viewmodels Register and Login! So yeah the model expected some data that wasn't there anymore. I want to thank @Jake he came up with the custom implementation on the UserManager.
