Python- ARMA In-sample prediction function with Statsmodels

I fit an ARMA(1,0) model with one exogenous variable (so an ARX(1) model) using statsmodels. For reality check, I apply this model to the training data:

y_hat_i=arparam*y_true_i-1 + beta*x_true_i+const

Then I compare this result with statsmodels.ARMA.predict(), and they are not the same. I checked the source code of sm, and it uses endo_true minus residual as in-sample predict, but I still don't see why those two are different.
