Question

I'm trying to use docker to push my existing rails project to a docker container.

I'm using postgres database.

When I did $> docker-compose up

I get following error in the logs.

You don't need two instruction in your Dockerfile , just use docker-compose for overwrite postgres enviroments images.

You can try this:

RUN apt-get install -y libpq-dev

# Install nokogiri dep
RUN apt-get install -y libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev

RUN mkdir $APP_HOME
WORKDIR $APP_HOME

ADD Gemfile* $APP_HOME/

Now in your docker-compose.yml (I use v1 version) you can try that:
