Next/Previous Post Links from Same Category and Ordered by Custom Field

Question

I have a tutorial website developed in wordpress where I have ordered my posts according to a custom field named 'Series'. What I want is that if I am viewing post with custom field "Seried' having value of 10. Next Link should take me to the post with Series value of 11 and previous Link should take me to the post having Series value of 9. Basically I need next and previous links that took me to the post in the same category sorted by numeric value for custom field.

You need a line or two of PHP somewhere in the theme. It can be placed anywhere you like, but you need to be able to modify the theme.

Some themes do have Next and Previous links by default. You might want to search for the appropriate theme if you don't have the ability to modify the theme.
