'module' object has no attribute '__version__' during openstack /devstack installation

Question

I have tried updating pip but it didn't helped. How to get past this error.

Tried reinstalling pip :

    /usr/local/bin/pip -V
pip 9.0.1 from /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages (python 2.7)

i met the same issue on stable/mitaka version. after upgraded openstacksdk to 0.9.5, the issue is gone. https://bugs.launchpad.net/python-openstacksdk/+bug/1588823 https://review.openstack.org/#/c/325088/
