I think I might be missing something obvious, the binding has no access to my textview id? eg.
binding.myText.setText("text here"); > cannot resolve symbol 'myText'
MainActivity.java
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
ActivityMainBinding binding = DataBindingUtil.setContentView(this, R.layout.activity_main);
binding.myText.setText("test");
}
}
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <layout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"> <android.support.constraint.ConstraintLayout android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent"> <TextView android:id="@+id/myText" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" app:layout_constraintBottom_toBottomOf="parent" app:layout_constraintLeft_toLeftOf="parent" app:layout_constraintRight_toRightOf="parent" app:layout_constraintTop_toTopOf="parent"/> </android.support.constraint.ConstraintLayout> </layout>
