How to know what open source softwares are used in a C++ project [on hold]

I just received a request to find out how many open source softwares and libraries are used in a C++ project. What is the best way to precisely find it out? I know I can mannully read makefile and header file, but I may miss some.. Any suggestions from experienced engineer?
