I am trying to create a new virtual machine but due to some reasons it is not showing me MAC option to install MAC OS.

Am I missing anything?

There is a product unlocker which patches VMWare to be able to install Mac. I have been used that since many years ago with different version of VMWare.

The latest version supports VMWare 15. I think there is no version out for VMWare 16.

You can find unlocker here: Unlocker on GitHub

And again, this is a patch and is not recommended for production environment.

There is no officially supported option to install macOS in VMWare Workstation on Windows.

macOS is specifically listed as not supported in the list of guest OSs for Workstation, and this is also stated in VMWare's Installing VMware Tools in a Mac OS Guest .

Note: macOS guests are only supported in VMware Fusion virtual machines.

Questions on VMWare's boards that ask about macOS in Workstation are routinely closed with statements like the following .

You are not legally allowed to run macOS on Workstation because of Apple's restrictions. Therefore, there is no such option in Workstation .

Unfortunately Apple does not allow you to run a virtual macOS or OS X on non-Apple branded hardware .

You'll need to have apple hardware and use a product like VMware Fusion or VMware ESXi and run a virtual copy of macOS / OS X on that in order for us to be able to help you.

This traces back to Apple's Software License Agreement for macOS Catalina which states the following, similar to EULAs for previous versions.

Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.

A. Preinstalled and Single-Copy Apple Software License. [...] you are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-branded computer at any one time.

B. Mac App Store License. [...] you are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license: [...] (iii) to install, use and run up to two (2) additional copies or instances of the Apple Software within virtual operating system environments on each Mac Computer you own or control that is already running the Apple Software , for purposes of: (a) software development; (b) testing during software development; (c) using macOS Server; or (d) personal, non-commercial use.

[ EDIT ] To anyone having found something like the following elsewhere on the 'net...

...be advised that the above is not a screenshot of the genuine VMWare product.

  1. Make sure you have Python, you can download it from the Windows Store.
  2. MacOs Support only works on VMware 15.
  3. Install the unlocker from: https://github.com/BDisp/unlocker .
  4. In the unlocker folder run: win-test-install.cmd to make sure it is installed properly.
  5. MacOS should now be available in VMware.

win-test-install.cmd 使该选项显示在 VMWare Player 16 中。确保在运行脚本时关闭了 WMWare Platey。

Worked fine in VMWare Workstation 16. Download the GitHub repo, close VMWare Workstation and run win-test-install.cmd . I tested it on Windows 10 64-bit with an Intel i9 (not sure about other systems).

Matter of fact, those with Intel processor new generation will have more chance to install the Mcos comparing whom are using AMD AM4+ . Intel is the major ID piece APPLE is using to identify it.
