How to add this effect on any views in android

i am working on a app where i have expend and collapse a list view kind of view with a arrow icon. while using my app i found that arrow icon while clicked show a effect nor it look like shadow nether it's elevation. but it's really helpful.

So my question is how to set area size for this effect and how to enable it on any view like ImageButton.
