Spring Application not deploying to heroku

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-compiler-plugin:3.8.1:compile (default-compile) on project divvi-up-backend: Fatal error compiling: invalid target release: 15 -> [Help 1]

I got the above error, does anyone know why this is happening?

I had this problem once, and problem solved with deleting repository. You can try delete full .m2/repository . Or else you need to know what plugins are you using exactly with their dependencies as one of the plugin suffered a problem while downloading.
