Where can I store credentials (amateur android app)?

I'm trying to develop my amateur app using android studio and I have implemented a login activity. I want to store my users credentials somewhere using no to little money. Any help would be much appreciated!

This could be good first syep to use. And You can use Firbase for more other functionalities.
