Looking for reliable + low-power hardware/VPS options for Filerun (storing lots of pics and videos, allowing many different people to upload to it)

I want to use Filerun to support many people uploading photos/videos from an event to the same place. I'm currently looking into what types of hosting options I could use. I think I'm interested in having physical hardware (eg Raspberry Pi, Mini PC) instead of a VPS — but if physical presents reliability issues, I'm open to VPS as well. My main concerns are reliability and robustness, low power draw, and being future-proof.

What devices / services would you recommend for this?

I have an option for a Raspberry Pi 4 (8 GB) with a 32 GB micro-SD card (NOOBS pre-installed), I've just read about some reliability issues with Raspberry Pi and I'm not sure if 32 GB would be enough storage. Otherwise, RPI is probably the preference due to low power load.

Are there any other low power mini PCs that you would recommend for this use case, plus any accessories (eg attachable SSDs) to go with them? Or any other accessories that can go with RPI 4 to improve its reliability and storage capacity (eg compatible MicroSDs, flashdrives, SSDs, fans)?

I can only think of is TrueNas/FreeNas. But you can literally use any OS for this.
