Google Chrome freezes on Mac

Question

Chrome intermittently freezes on my Mac.

Some people say it is due to corrupted user profile files.

Anyone knows how to fix this? Any ready tool for that?

You could try going to

YOUR_HOME_FOLDER/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome

and deleting everything there.Then reinstall Chrome.

You might want to check, if you don't have the plugins double enabled.

I use both Chrome and Chromium. Chromium was running into problems. It turned out that I had (somehow) the plugins double enabled.

• Go to chrome://plugins/
• Click on (+) to see the details.
• Disable the Google plugins (in my case "/opt/google/talkplugin/") and keep the Chromium ones (in my case "/usr/lib/chromium-browser/pepper/").
