JavaFX: Change the image from ImageView using file from FileChooser

Question

In my program I want user's to select a file to be set in ImageView using FileChooser. This is the code from controller:

@FXML ImageView floorPlanImage;

FileChooser fileChooser;
public void loadImage()
{
    System.out.println("Load Image Button Pressed");
    fileChooser = new FileChooser();

    File file = fileChooser.showOpenDialog(drawingAnchorPane.getScene().getWindow());
    if (file != null) {
        System.out.println("File Was Selected");
        floorPlanImage.setImage(new Image(file.getAbsolutePath()));

    }

}

I am getting the following error:

Load Image Button Pressed

The file which user select is not part of the application resources.

The Image constructor expects a string representing the URL of the image (not the file path).

You can do

URL url = file.toURI().toURL();
floorPlanImage.setImage(new Image(url.toExternalForm()));
