glassfish v3 deployment java.lang.InstantiationException

Question

I am unsuccessfully trying to deploy a war file on glassfish. It consists of a Servlet Filter instantiating a Singleton class. Triggered by the constructor of the Singleton the connection to a web-service is established. I already checked the annotations of the web-service-client package which are pointed at in the error code.

I'd be very thankful for any ideas, hints.
