I used LIKE statement and got java.sql.SQLException: After end of result set in mysql

Question

I was using the LIKE statement for MySQL and somehow it behaves beyond what I expected. It gave me "java.sql.SQLException: After end of result set in mysql" I could not figure out what is going on.

I tried to look up and people were saying that while(rs.next()){...} will fix it but it did not work for me.

I want it to look up all the data that contains the keyword I am passing through the argument.

Your problem is that you are trying to have four result sets open at once, on the same connection. A database connection can generally only process one query at a time. What you need to do is

• prepare and execute the first query
• fetch and process the rows from the first query
• prepare and execute the second query
• fetch and process the rows from the second query

and so on.
